It claims it is good for back.
Generally with healthy feet, using shoes with a flexible arch support allows the muscles of the feet to actively engage whilst walking. The more the three arches in the foot (inner, outer, transverse) can activate during glidewalking the better. What can be challenging with shoes that have very large soles or rockers, are that they take a foot further away from contact with the ground. If your feet are not strong enough yet to use them actively while walking, try some of the foot exercises in 8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back and build your way up to walking with a less bulky shoe.
